Analysis and results
Use Variable Sweeps
Change one assumption across a valid range to see which values materially alter the plan.
When this applies
Use this for a structured sensitivity test rather than manually editing many scenario versions.
Where to enter it
Simulation > Variable Sweeps
How to enter it
- Choose a supported category and person where applicable.
- Review the range, step, workload, and current-scenario row.
- Run deterministic analysis or request a probability run.
- Sort or export results; apply a selected value only after reviewing the confirmation.
How YARCalc uses it
- The eight supported sweeps are goal income, historical period ending, each person’s Social Security start age, each person’s retirement age, and each person’s death/planning age.
- The screen groups those into Retirement age, Goal income, Social Security, Death age, and Historical period ending, with Me/Spouse selection where applicable.
- Ranges and steps are derived from scenario and reference data.
- Probability results retain deterministic and probability views.
- Historical period ending is deterministic only because a stochastic model would replace the exact rolling historical window.
