Model recurring and age-banded spending
Separate costs that must continue from flexible spending and schedule changes by age.
When this applies
Use this for ordinary annual retirement spending, travel phases, and costs that begin or end at a given age.
Where to enter it
Portfolio > Scenario Editor > Annual Spending
How to enter it
- Create Non-discretionary categories for required costs and Discretionary categories for spending guardrails may reduce.
- Add annual items to each category.
- Leave growth blank for scenario inflation, enter zero for fixed nominal, or enter a custom growth rate.
- Use start/end ages for age-banded spending.

- Discretionary classification affects stochastic spending guardrails.
- A start age without an end age continues for the rest of the plan.
